Small Things Postcard
In March 2019, NASA’s first all-woman spacewalk was cancelled because NASA was not equipped with two space suits that fit the astronauts for their mission. “Small Things” is an embrace for girls and women who relentlessly hold on tight to their dreams.
Original artwork (sold) made from Magazine clippings and Cotton thread.
“The two astronauts who were scheduled to walk together in space on Friday, Anne C. McClain and Christina H. Koch, would both need to wear a medium-size torso component. But only one is readily available at the International Space Station.”
- Jacey Fortin & Karen Zraick for the New York Times
Update: Later, in October 2019, the spacewalk was rescheduled. Included here is a picture of the NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch, who were both scheduled to conducted spacewalks during a series of five maneuvers in October 2019.
